Regenerating islet-derived protein 1 beta (Reg1b) is a protein involved in various biological processes, particularly in the regulation of cell growth and differentiation. It is predominantly expressed in the pancreas and plays a role in pancreatic regeneration and insulin secretion. Reg1b promotes cell proliferation and survival, making it essential for tissue repair and regeneration. It also modulates the immune response by influencing the production of cytokines and chemokines. Additionally, Reg1b has been implicated in the development of certain diseases, including pancreatic cancer and inflammatory bowel disease.
The Fc-tag can extend the half-life of recombinant proteins in vivo by interacting with the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn), reducing their clearance from the bloodstream. Therefore, adding an Fc tag to hFGF21 enhances its pharmacokinetic properties in therapeutic protein research.FORMULATION
